Shari obtained her law degree from Dalhousie Law School and was called to the Bar in 2001. Prior to joining the firm Shari was employed with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Toronto. Shari joined the firm in 2005 and was admitted into the partnership in 2008. Shari’s legal practice focuses on Environmental, Municipal and Real Estate Law.
Shari’s transactional practice focuses on environmental aspects of real estate transactions and brownfield site remediation. She also advises clients on matters pertaining to environmental audits and site assessments, regulatory inspections and investigations, environmental management systems and environmental liability. Shari works closely with the operator of waste management systems to ensure compliance with Certificates of Approval and all applicable legislation.
Shari has worked with a diverse range of clientele that has included leaders from the various sectors, including waste management, municipalities, energy production, energy transmission, petroleum and petrochemical, electronics manufacturer and supply, investment and finance, automotive manufacturer, publishing and property management.
Shari has authored, co-authored and lectured on a variety of environmental and municipal topics. Shari is a member of the Canadian, American, Ontario and Simcoe Bar Associations as well as the National Brownfield Association.
Shari lives in Horseshoe Valley and is actively involved in the community. Shari and her husband, Ian, have two boys ages 7 and 14. Shari’s family takes full advantage of what Simcoe County has to offer by enjoying hockey, skiing, mountain and road biking. Shari is a member of the Royal Victoria Hospital Board and an avid volunteer and past member of the Oro Minor Hockey Association Board. Shari proudly canvasses for Heart and Stroke annually and assists with fundraising activities for various charities and associations as the opportunity arises.
