Paul obtained a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, and a B.Ed. and his law degree from Queen’s University in Kingston. Paul has been a partner with the firm since 1990, and has lived in the Barrie area since 1986.
Paul’s practice focuses on all aspects of real estate property law including cottage and waterfront conveyancing issues as well as all forms of residential, commercial, industrial and vacant land purchases and sales and private and institutional mortgages; land development, including the purchasing and selling of subdivision land, and development of plans of subdivision; and municipal law including land acquisitions, land sales, road closings and road related agreements, subdivision agreements, site plan control agreements, severance agreements, acquisition of easements and by-law drafting.
Paul represents private individuals, private corporations, municipal corporations, school boards and utility companies including the Township of Essa, the County of Simcoe, the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board and Innisfil Hydro Distribution Systems Limited.
Paul is certified as a Specialist in Real Estate Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Paul is the author of a book for first time purchasers titled “Home and Condominium Information Guide” and was the editor of a Real Estate newsletter. He has been involved in presenting seminars for the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Ontario Bar Association. He has also given numerous presentations to Real Estate Offices and financial institutions throughout the City of Barrie. Paul is currently Treasurer of the Barrie Real Estate Lawyer’s Association and is also its Past President.
Paul has served as Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Huronia Symphony and Convener and Coach of the Springwater Soccer League and T-Ball League.
In his spare time Paul is an avid Triathlete having competed in numerous Sprint and Olympic Triathlons throughout Ontario. In the winter months Paul competes in the Canadian Ski Marathon having completed his Gold Coureur des Bois.
