Julia graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in 1985. She later returned to the University of Toronto law school to earn her Juris Doctor and graduated with honours standing in 2001. Julia clerked at the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto and was called to the Bar in 2002. Following her call to the Bar, Julia returned once again to the University of Toronto where she completed her Masters of Law with a thesis in fiduciary law in 2004.
Julia’s Wills and Estates practice includes the preparation of wills and trusts, of a broad range of complexity, as well as the administration of estates. In addition, Julia represents clients involved in will challenges, guardianship applications and power of attorney litigation and she also has experience in estate mediation. By practicing both as an estate solicitor and an estate litigator, Julia brings enhanced perspective to both aspects of her practice.
Julia is a member of the York Region and Simcoe County Law Associations as well as the Trusts and Estates Section of the Ontario Bar Association. She is an active member of the BWEL, Barrie Wills and Estates Lawyers. Julia worked with Bradford and District Community Foundation and regularly delivers presentations to local business groups and financial advisors on Wills & Estates.
