Doug obtained his law degree from Queen’s University and has restricted his practice to labour and employment law since he was called to the bar in 1989. Prior to law school, Doug attended the University of Western Ontario where he received an Honours Degree in Business Administration from the Richard Ivy School of Business.

In the early 1990s Doug was seconded with the Ontario government’s Management Board of Cabinet where he advised and represented a number of Ministries on labour and employment law matters.

Doug provides advice and representation to both employers and employees on a wide variety of employment and labour law matters including: employment contracts, employee terminations, human rights complaints, workplace safety, occupational health & safety, union certification, and grievance and arbitration proceedings.

Doug has taught several courses at George Brown College including: Employment Law and Human Rights Law, Collective Agreements, Negotiation & Arbitration, Labour Law, and Industrial Relations.

Doug is a trained mediator having received his Advanced ADR Certificate from the University of Windsor Law School, and mediates employment and labour law disputes.
